Course Instructions

Mass start. All runners will start at the same time, 10:00.

The course will be well marked with chalk and flags. Concentrate on the course markings as there are lots of turns.  If there is a section of the course that may be considered difficult there will be a warning sign.

10K run first. The run course consists of one short loop on orchard roads and jeep trails with a little hill climbing on single track thrown in for fun. There will be two water stations.

15 Mile Bike second. The bike course consists of two different loops of gravel road single track climbs and fast orchard roads. 1800 ft of elevation gain. There will be two water stations. Bikers should carry their own water and be self sufficient. Carry tubes & tools and a taco in case you get hungry.

While we strived to make the course do-able by all, there is one down hill that may give inexperienced bikers a challenge. It is an off-camber side hill single track about 100 yards long that descends to the creek section on the back side of the course. It will be well marked so take a look and be your own judge. Get off your bike and run down if you want. Be mindful of other riders coming down the hill.

There are two different loops upon which you will be racing. A short loop (10k) and the long loop being 9 miles long. Both loops start and finish at the same Start/Finish line.

Runners will do the short loop first. After they pass the start finish line they will go directly into the bike transition area and pick up their bike or tag their team member.

The biker will then ride the long loop. After passing the Start/Finish area the rider will continue on and do the short loop (the same loop that was used for the run). Solo riders have an advantage here as they ran the short loop earlier in the day and know what to expect. There will be volunteers at the different junctions to assist you if necessary.

Look for special prize packet water bottles hidden on the course. Pick them up and you will earn a prize packet that has been generously donated by our sponsors! One water bottle per racer please. Wahoo!

If for some reason you cannot finish the race, please tell an official so we know that you are safe.

COWS!! There are cows on the course. The cows have been friendly but don't take any chances. Slow down and go around them if you can. Watch that they don't dart out in front of you. They are not the smartest animals on the planet. COW POOP!!! There is cow poop on the course. Go around the cow poop. Nuff said.

Thank you for supporting our event. The Nickel Family has generously offered their pristine ranch lands to our event. Please take care of it.
