Dear Biking Hero:
The members of the Southern Sierra Fat Tire Association would like to invite you to join the Southern Sierra Fat Tire Association (SSFTA).
Tim Strem is doing a fine job as President again this year, Jim McWhorter as Treasurer is watching over the club like a hawk, Leon Graves as Vice President, and Membership Coordinator, Emily Georgeson as Secretary and Rocky Harris as the Member at Large rounds out the Board for the SSFTA.
Our updated Mission Statement and By-Laws insure that the club will stay family oriented and assure continued smooth operations of the SSFTA, as an ambassador of fun and wholesome mountain biking.
The SSFTA is a non -profit organization, that regularly volunteers time and monies to other non-profit organizations. We also have a very active program of building and maintaining trails in the area. The SSFTA is responsible for building and maintaining the Kern Canyon Trail, Badger Gap trail and of course the famous Keyesville classic race venue including the Cross Country and Downhill Trails as well as others. How many times have you been on one of those trails and thought about how fun it is to ride on, and who built and maintains it ?
There are many benefits to membership in our club... organized club rides, the great feeling of belonging to an organization that gives back to local charities. Summer picnics, the annual Christmas party, races such as the Keyesville Classic and the Rio Bravo Rumble, discounts at local bike shops and updated information of policy changes dealing with land access issues including the on-going fight to keep the trails plan alive in our own mountains and foothills. Other benefits are riding with other mountain bike enthusiasts, share riding techniques and locations of trails and riding areas, and grand camaraderie.
We hold monthly "Board Meetings",all are invited, watch the website for date and time. Every quarter we have a "fun" gathering for the general membership. Of course we'll have good food and some entertainment of some kind. Membership not required to attend any of the meetings.
If you have any questions about membership or our organization, feel free to call me at 661-332-7478, or E-mail me at: leongraves@yahoo.com .
Thank you for your consideration to be a member of the Southern Sierra Fat Tire Association!
Happy Riding,
Leon Graves & the SSFTA
