Bakersfield Triathlon
Saturday, May 17th, 2008 The Bakersfield Triathlon brought to you by Action Sports
Frazier Mountain Loop
Sunday May 18th
Meet at AM / PM MiniMart at Hwy 99 and Panama at 8:00

We will drive to Frazier Park to ride the Frazier Mountain Loop which is a counter-clockwise loop as shown on the satellite photo, ride profile too. The climb is similar to the Portuguese Pass road, wide dirt road, consistent grade for 7 miles, then it's ridge-running rollers (4 1/2 miles). The drop into Hungry Valley is just that, a drop, a fun drop, a brake cookin', tired hands no pedlin' fun drop. Then it's the return route which has ups & downs aplenty as it ascends to the end.
Click here to see the profile and map.

This is a challenging ride, be prepared for the following statisics:
26.5 hard miles (nothing flat, nothing straight), 5:32 ride time, 5789 feet of climbing

After the ride we will retire to Janice's house in Lake of the Woods (near Frazier Park) for a BBQ. Side dishes and sodas will be supplied, bring your own meat to bbq.

If you are planning on the BBQ part of the day RSVP to Tim Strem by Friday May 16, pipbak@sbcglobal.net 204-1458
