Whiskey Flat Trail Maintenance Days

Whiskey Flat Trail needs your help! 2/11 & 2/25

Dear SSFTA members,

I hope you can join us next Saturday 2/11/2012 and/ or 2/25/2012 as Stewards of the Sequoia host our third and forth Trail Appreciation event to reopen the Whiskey Flat trail. We will be brushing and fixing the trail which has become impassable in some sections due to lack of maintenance.

This great trail has been neglected. Stewards of the Sequoia have adopted the trail and we were able to rehabilitate 2 miles of it a few weeks ago. We need your help to continue the project.

Whiskey Flat is a long trail that is anything but flat, but we have worked out a unique way to get to the project area quickly and easily. We will be using rafts to shuttle our crews across the river so we can focus our energy on the trail instead of a long hike in and out.

Please reply to this email to register.

Sierra Gateway Market will provide their great lunches for each volunteer who registers by Thursday.

You can find out more about Stewards Spring Trail Appreciation Days at http://stewardsofthesequoia.org/events-schedule.html
