Thanks to the 13 hardcore riders who braved the early-morning start time and cold temps (snow in June!?) to ride all the way up McGill Trail and then back down again. There was some snow on the trail (as well as a light flurry sprinkle), but it remained a fantastic ride! It was 40 degrees and cloudy at the top, but 60 degrees and sunny eventually as we made our way back down to the Y.
We joined our friends from the Point Magu ride in March, Vince's Slow Friends (VSF: Keep Up, Bitches!), on this ride. VSF Jim and SSFTA Susan were first-time McGill riders, and they loved it. Well, we all love to hate it (brutal uphill that doesn't stop), but as we all agree: you've got to earn the fun downhill. Trail was in great shape and tacky, and the scenery (as always) was gorgeous.
One minor uphill fall and one girl-move flat tire that a dude graciously fixed, but other than that, a wonderful day with wonderful people. Pizza and beer at Mike's Pizza Company in Frasier Park closed the day. What a way to close out the weekend; thanks for coming out!
