All right! So far I know that You, Kari, Deanne, James, Lori, Tim, Eddie, and myself are signed-up. There are a few more who indicated that they would like to join us, but since they haven't said they have signed up yet, I won't mention names (you know who you are!!!!). We welcome anyone else who would like to join us and have a great time riding along the coast. It will be a great time.

My husband says it's "ridiculous" to go out and do one 20 mile road ride in two years and then turn around and sign up for a 100 miler. LOL, he's right. Doesn't mean I'm not still considering it; however, if it fills up and I miss out, that's okay too. :-) I'm leaning towards no...

Closet roadies like Eddie and B-RADical will fare just fine though. Good luck guys (and gals!). It will be a fun time!

Your husband doesn't know what he's talking about. HAHA!!!!

You have over a month to train for it. It's not going to be a blistering pace anyway!! You'll do fine!!

I think you all should do it on your mountain bikes

I second the "your husband doesn't know what he is talking about" comment.....

Don't worry about the distance. The main objective is to have fun riding with friends. The pace will be a comfortable "touring" speed and we will definitely be stopping at the food stations along the way. There will not be any big climbing like you just successfully did after 2 years off the road.

If we didn't think you could do it, we would definitely let you know. So just get off the fence and sign up!

I will be posting here and sending emails detailing the plan later this week. Most likely we will set a carpool location and time so that we can minimize the number of people having to drive separately.

Hi fellow CoolBreezers.

So here is the plan for Saturday's ride. First to confirm who I know about that has said they signed up: Kevin, Kari, Tim, James, Eddie, Michael, Esteban, Lori, Bryan, & Deanne. Unfortunately, Deanne had to return home for a period of time, so she cannot ride. If anyone else wants to join us, let us know and we can put you in touch with James to work out details. If anyone else signed up but have not identified yourself, please let me know so we know who to plan for. If anyone else who already listed above is unable to go for some reason, please let me know so that we don't wait for you at the meeting point.

So here is the plan... meet at the Lowes at Panama and Route 99 at 5:15am to finalize car-pool situation and caravan to Ventura. Kari and I will pick up Eddie at his house at 04:45am and then pickup Michael at 05:00am. From there we will drive to Lowes on Panama. Tim said he could carry 4 people and 4 bikes. Last I knew, James was going to have to drive separately since he was heading South following the ride. So if my math is correct, Tim can carry Lori, Bryan, and Esteban. Of course, this can all be finalized on Saturday morning if need be. Please let me know if these plans do not make sense to you or if you need to travel in a different manner.

Kari has requested that everyone wear their SSFTA Jerseys if you have one. Also, make sure to prepare for cooler weather in the morning. Ventura and Santa Barbara can have fog in the mornings with lows in the high-50s this time of year so don't dress like you are in B-Field. That said, don't plan on riding with anything that you cannot stowe in your saddle-bag or in your jersey if it warms up. Also, make sure to bring a change of clothes and towel/soap for the showers following the ride.

Looks like it will be a fun ride! See you all Saturday!

Kevin
